Classic Tapers:

I am willing to recreate any of the Classic Tapers that are available in the common domain.  Examples include:​

Payne, Garrison, Paul Young, etc.

 

​Modern Tapers:

These may include tapers created and kindly shared within our Bamboo Community.  I can suggest or recommend certain tapers depending on your needs, fishing environment and intended target species.

 

Proprietary Tapers:

These are my own tapers, developed & tested by many experienced people in the field of rod making, casting and fly fishing community.  Currently this is largely in the Spey Rod category but efforts are underway to extend this to contemporary Trout tapers as well.

 

Additional Options:

 

I offer (and highly recommend it on certain taper designs) the option of Hollow Building.  This options reduces weight, can make the taper perform faster and more crisply.

 

I also offer the option of "impregnation" on rods that may see action in salt or other adverse conditions.  This procedure fills all open pores and surfaces of the bamboo and prevents absorption of salts and such into the natural cane material and will prolong the life of a rod used regularly in these harsher conditions.
